With less than a year to go to the Olympic Games in London in 2012, people all over the UK are feeling the excitement of what the games will bring.
Sheffield is a major sporting city in the UK, hosting a wide number of events each year.
Sheffield's 'Lighting the Flame for Sport' is a partnership of organisations from around the region that are working to maximise the opportunities created by London 2012. See more at: Lighting the Flame
Pictures here are from the Olympic Torch relay into the evening celebration at Barkers Pool, Sheffield on Monday 25th June 2012, the Olympic Torch at Don Valley before it left Sheffield on Tuesday 26th June 2012 and the send-off of athletes from Sheffield or who train in Sheffield to the London 2012 Olympic Games, held in the Peace Gardens Sheffield on Wednesday 27th June 2012.
All pictures are available to buy as a digital version without watermarks. The file size varies from 4-11Mb, mostly around the 6Mb size. The pictures were taken on a Nikon D700 full-frame digital camera - the pictures on this site are much reduced from those that would be supplied. Pictures are priced at £25 each.
