Action from the BBL season opener between Sheffield Sharks and Newcastle Eagles at the EIS Sheffield.

Last season's reigning champions Newcastle shaded it 78-85 but it was not an easy contest and an under-strength Sharks line-up gave them plenty of scares with good performances from debutants Jerrold Brooks #7 who scored 17 points and Kyle Odister #35 who shot 5/8 three-pointers for his 18 points.

It was Mike Tuck #15 though who won MVP - leading the side from the front with 8 rebounds and 21 points.
