Tour de France 2014
The biggest annual spectator event in the world, the Tour de France, is having it's Grand Depart through Yorkshire next year. Over three billion people watch the Tour on television every year and countless thousands will enjoy it roadside in Yorkshire.
Saturday 5th July 2014 will see the riders leave Leeds and finish 190KM later in Harrogate. Next day they will leave York and after a gruelling 200KM finish on the streets of Sheffield. The photos in this gallery were taken near Chelker reservoir on the way from Addingham to Skipton.
All this has been made possible by the amazing group that are 'Welcome to Yorkshire' and who have tempted the Tour to test themselves up hill and down dale and up the other side again!

It wasn't long before many of the riders got out of the saddle - and there was still a LONG way to go to the top. Very punishing so near the end of a long, hilly stage.
